E.L.F Mineral Face Primer

Hii Lovely Beauitiees,

I picked up the e.l.f mineral face primer from beauty bliss the other day and have been trialling it out this week so I can review it for you girls!

So, I use about small squirt of this stuff, applying it to my face before foundation. Honestly, I'm not all that happy about this primer sadly ): ! When I applied it, it was quite slippery instead of gliding on in a silky manner so I can imagine this primer would definitely not be liked by those with oily combination skin! Never the less, it didn't shrink my pores and they were still visible after I had used this. Although this primer doesn't claim to shrink pores, most primers I have had do!

When I applied my foundation after putting the foundation on, it legit slides on making my foundation feel quite runny, when in fact it already is a liquidy formula!

It also claims to fill in fine lines and the lines on my forehead are definitely still visible.

So all in all, this primer really doesn't do it for me.Whether I had a dud formula or they are all the same, it definitely is not for me!

Pros:
Comes with a pump
Paraben Free
It may fill in small lines, I don't know whether my skin was having a good day and was less dry or this did indeed help, so Ill get back to this and let you know sometime! :)

Cons:
Very slippery consistency
makes my foundation rather runny
doesn't disguise pores
I wouldn't say that my foundation lasts any longer with it being on ):

Till next time beauties, please comment below any ideas for me, because I am struggling a little bit! or anything you would like reviewing ! :) Have a lovely day and comment below your favourite primer because Id love to find a great one, especially for dry skin and paraben free!

REVIEW | FIRST IMPRESSION | Sleek True Colour Lipstick Mystic (783)

REVIEW | FIRST IMPRESSION | Sleek True Colour Lipstick Mystic (783)

Hi Beauties !

Today I am reviewing another lipstick, Sleek True Colour Lipstick Mystic (783) which i purchased off BeautyBliss !

At first glance I was a little disappointed with how small the lipstick is, it definitely would not last long and the packaging is nothing to rave about, which is a shame because us beauty fanatics love gorgeous packaged lipsticks to add to our collection!

This lipstick is extremely pigmented and vibrant, sort of a fuscia, which is great but I noticed when I applied it to my lips it definitely does not go on smoothly and its a bit chalky. I could feel the friction when I applied it. However, once its on it is a beautiful colour and definitely complements blue/green eyes and creates a bold look! It does have lasting power, however I noticed within a couple of hours the lipstick started to bleed and gathered in the creases of my lips. Therefore, you would need a lip liner thats for sure!

Pros:
Bold, Vibrant Colour
VERY pigmented
Complements fair complexions
So so so beautiful!

Cons:
Drys out your lips considerably, especially if you wear this all day
Not smooth to apply
Bleeds if you don't use a lip liner
Gathers in the lines of your lips
Creates flaking of dry skin on lips

HOWEVER, bear in mind I do have a dry skin type and so this may be just perfect for you if you have smooth beautiful lips to begin with! <3

Below are two pictures below of my lips taken when I first applied the lipstick and then 2 hours after. You can see in the second picture the lipstick has bled and concentrated in the lines of my lips!

Anyway… here is an overall look for you beauties, so overall it does create a lovely bold look, so I would recommend this lipstick IF you have a lipliner and IF you don't mind your lips feeling like they have lipstick on as it is definitely not unnoticeably felt.

REVIEW | NYX MATTE PURE RED LIPSTICK

Hi lovelys,

REVIEW | NYX MATTE PURE RED LIPSTICK

So I recently went on beautybliss.com and purchased this amazing lipstick I had to review and share with you girls!

The colour is gorgeous. It is so matte and pigmented, at first I could not stop looking in the mirror to stare at this beautiful gorgeous red! This lipstick also has great lasting power. Im not sure how it is if you eat with it on however! It doesn't bleed but I did line my lips with a random red liner to produce a more sharper and fuller look to my lips <3 I would definitely recommend this beautiful lipstick!

Pros:
So so so pigmented, its unbelievable
Glides on amazingly
Makes those lips POP and really brings your eye colour out if you have blue or green!
Long Lasting Power

Cons:
Smells a little bit like crayon, but nothing significantly bad, just no floral smell or anything like that!
I did notice later on throughout the day the colour did settle in the fine lines of my lips and started to make my lips feel a little bit dry!

Perfect Duo | E.L.F Warm Bronzer | E.L.F Highlighter

Perfect Duo | E.L.F Warm Bronzer | E.L.F Highlighter

Hiii Beauties x!
So today I thought I'd share 2 products that I use to produce a beautiful glow on my face!

E.L.F Warm Bronzer - I swirl my brush over all four of these hues to contour my face, giving my cheeks a warm accent.
E.L.F Highlighter - I dot this product down the top of each cheekbone and then gently pat it into the skin to give a shimmering effect.

As you can see below the effect is really natural, and I took this photo in front of natural lighting and you can notice how the light really balances off my face when it hits these areas. I also apply the bronzer to the temples of my face and the highlighter down the centre of my nose and middle of the forehead so the natural lighting hits my face in all the right places!

What makes this duo even better is that it has amazing lasting power! It lasts all day for me which is great :)

you can also use each of the four colours for highlighting (vanilla colour), 2 blushes on the right and the bronzer of the top left if you wish, which is so fab! The price is also awesome retailing for around $5. They are reasonably pigmented but not greatly concentrated to the point where you have to be careful how gentle you are with the amount you apply!]

Pros:
Great for fair light skin
Subtle and natural glow
Cheap
Portable

Cons:
Too subtle for darker skin tones

Bronzer Palate from left, down, right down. The colours do not appear very pigmented but they combine to create a gorgeous glow.

Highligher

Highlighter blended on the lower part (other deeper colour is a swatch) creating a gorgeous shine !

Tutorial | Step by Step Donut Bun Tutorial

Hiiii Beauties,

Tutorial | Step by Step Donut Bun Tutorial

So today I thought I would do a simple picture tutorial for you guys and help you achieve a messy bun using a donut! I will also write alternative ways if your want a more sleek and sophisticated bun!

Having a bad hair day? This hair look never fails to save me !

These can be purchased in New Zealand at Kmart in different colours so choose depending on the colour of your hair! Im sure target, warehouses and other shops that stock general hair items will definitely have these donut buns!

Step 1: Tie your hair in a ponytail using a elastic band/hair tie. I did not brush out my hair before doing so and this was to achieve the messy look! For those of you that want a polished bun, comb out your hair before tying it in a ponytail  and then brush it into a ponytail!

Step 2: Feed the ponytail through the donut (same for those of you who want a sleek look)

Step 3: Feather your hair strands over and around the bun so that no bun can be seen through your hair

Step 4: If you desire a big messy bun, sweep your hair from left to right around the bun and fasten with a clip or as many clips as you need. For a sophisticated look brush these strands out before you secure it with clips!

Step 5: Tug at the hair on the sides on your head pulling strands out closer to the ears to achieve a messy look. Also tug at the actual bun to make it bigger and fasten it with more clips

and here is the desired look - sorry for the silly face, my smiles were not working today ahhaa (so I revert to my put face!), but you get the point with the messy bun! Perfect for those bad hair days when your hair will just not work !

Review | Beauty Fav | Batiste Dry Shampoo (Floral and Flirty Blush)

Review | Beauty Fav | Batiste Dry Shampoo (Floral and Flirty Blush)

I have a love love love relationship with this product! It is amazing. Batiste Dry Shampoo claims to be suitable for all hair types! The packaging is beautiful with pink floral accents!

How does the product work?

The product works to absorb any extra oil/grease in your roots in between washes.

I’ll also share you in on a little secret! Because this product has a white cast it is awesome for those of you with ashy blonde hair like me! Just apply the spray to your roots and your regrowth blends in with your blonde hair its amazing.

Application/Usage
I apply this dry shampoo to my hair probably around 2 times a week in between washes. After shaking the bottle, I apply this product to the parting of my hair and then massage the product into my parting with my fingertips; I then buff it into my hair strands and brush my hair after this!

Pros:
Keeps the hair volumized, soft, beautiful and fresh
Makes your roots so much blonder
So much product in a 200ml bottle, it lasts forever
Smells great (floral one that I use), there is a tropical one which I wasn’t too phased on with the smell
The best dry shampoo I have ever used
You could get a way with washing your hair once a week if you use this product, that’s how revitalizing and fresh it makes your hair feel and look
Refreshes your hair instantly, like the shampoo claims!

Cons:
Brunette babes out there probably wouldn’t appreciate the white cast it does create, but I have heard there is a suitable Batiste Dry Shampoo designed for brunettes!
Applying too much of this product does create a powdery residue

The product can be quite overpowering and really easy to inhale it, so I generally spray it and then move around the room until it disappears and leave my windows open.

FIRST IMPRESSION | REVIEW | THEBALM TIMEBALM FOUNDATION (Light)

FIRST IMPRESSION | REVIEW | THEBALM TIMEBALM FOUNDATION (Light)

Thebalm Timebalm foundation is a cream foundation which claims to be packed with vitamins and is paraben free which is always a plus! I grabbed this foundation off Beautybliss. The awesome thing about this website is it allows you to match your colour with previous foundations you have had to ensure you get the right foundation!

This foundation is medium to full coverage and definitely does smooth and prefect any blemishes or pimples on the face. However, I did notice this foundation is not ideal for those of you with dry skin. It definitely seeps into dry areas and highlights these, creating flaking of the dry skin! I also found it settles into fine lines which is disappointing and this happened even with a primer!

It is a buildable foundation from light to full coverage but you have to be careful not to build it too much to the point where it becomes cakey. I did notice in some areas especially around the mouth and cupids bow I could see the foundation had highlighted little hairs on my face. This isn’t a big deal to me if people aren’t seeing me up close but I would say it is noticeable to people up close!

With regards to packaging, it is a little disappointing especially for the price you pay for this foundation. It comes in a round plastic container and a sponge which is not that great as if you were to use it a lot of the foundation would be lost in the sponge and it also becomes a bacteria bath if you constantly put in on your face and back into the pot, especially if you are applying the foundation to your pimples. It is also not desirable if you are travelling as it has no mirror and you would need your own applicator ):

However, in saying the above, the coverage of the foundation is great, giving a flawless face IF you don’t have dry areas and conceals pimples pretty amazingly, even nasty ones!

To those of you with sensitive skin who get irritated by foundations, this did not irritate my sensitive skin and did not break me out at all. So if you have a normal combination that does get pimples you should be fine. Those of you with oily skin however, this foundation might be too dewy. In saying this though, you should be fine with pressed powder lightly dusted in your oily zones!

Application
Using fingers with WASHED hands to prevent bacteria, I created a circular motion with my fingers to warm up the foundation and then applied dabs to my face building the coverage up!

Pros:
Overall flawless coverage with the exception of highlighting dry areas
Long lasting power around 7 hours (I did however dust pressed powder over it for a more matte finish)
Dewy fresh look
Conceals pimples and under eye area (you wouldn’t need a concealer with this foundation that’s for sure)
A lot of product in the pot, so you are definitely not paying for “air”
No Parabens
Contains skin friendly ingredients!

Cons:
Not appealing packaging
Highlights dry areas
Need a reasonable amount of product to build this foundation to full coverage
Stiff foundation until its warmed up with fingers
Not travel friendly
Quite expensive (Retails for $40, bought on sale for $30)

In all honestly, would I purchase this product again? Probably no, especially because it does highlight dry areas and as you all know that’s a problem I have! I will save this foundation for days when I want a dewy look and my face is being lovey to me haha! I would probably give this foundation a 6/10 J. If I wanted this look for cheaper I would purchase Australis’s Cream foundation, which is cheaper gives, pretty much the same effect!

On the other hand, I could definitely see myself using this foundation as a concealer along with my Maybelline foundation as it conceals those red spots and pimples perfectly!
